Doepke Reproduction – 614 UNIT Dragline”O” Gauge Model

Inspired by a similar pressed steel toy made in the 1950’s, this lattice boom, crawler crane is scaled at 1:48 from the original machine and hand crafted from brass in the same style as the original toy. With individually linked tracks, a 9″ long boom and a dragline bucket, this model looks ready to go to work. Manually operated hoists raise and lower the open lattice boom through the equalizer suspension as well as operate the dragline bucket. A “Unit orange” finish and authentic markings complete this model. This crane will be a show piece in any collection of construction models as well as make a perfect addition to any “O” gauge railroad layout or display. >> CCmodel

You have a nice looking drag line crane. I have been custom building 1:48 scale fully operational drag line boom cranes for the past 25 years. The crane has six cam motors with either a drag line bucket or a working clam bucket. I have had a lot of in-put from O gauge freaks saying that I should go into production and make a public offering. I would like to hear your thoughts.

P.S. I am currently working on a 1:48 scale operational container crane complete with self electrical charging containers to facilitate the container lifting frame operation.

The construction field always has it ups and downs and is always changing but progress will never stop.Even in a questionable economy there is always room for growth and expansion. The will and strength of the people is what makes us all able to move forward and accomplish great feats together. and construction has always been the backbone of this country no matter the economic status.
