Doepke Custom Euclid Scraper

In 2005 I found a rear scraper component and a very badly damaged front end from a Euclid Bottom Dump.  The rust on these was enough to say give up.  In the end after some time consuming sanding and polishing and paint a master was born.

Doepke Rises. Backyard Train

Well it was only a matter of time but somebody knocked off the original Charles Doepke Backyard Train.  Hopefully somebody from his family gets royalties.

This is the heirloom locomotive reminiscent of the ones encountered at carnivals and fairs in the 1940s that uses the simple pushing and pulling of a child’s arms on a hand-crank to propel it around an outdoor track. Each of the two included locomotives is made from cast aluminum with stainless-steel crank handles, and supports a single child up to 100 lbs. Minimal effort is required of children as they crank, so each train glides easily on precision-crafted, cast-iron wheels with a familiar “click-clack” sound with no slipping. The 30′ diam. 12-gauge circular track is made of welded steel, and sets up in under one hour with the included fasteners and wrenches; fits into its own 45 1/4″ L x 19″ W x 9 3/4″ D rolling storage cases. Includes two locomotives and track. Includes two nylon covers to protect locomotives.

CCM creates Pipe Layer Kit for D6

Photo: CCM

“Based on the success of this highly sought after toy, CCM created a Pipelayer kit to allow collectors the opportunity to make this great toy even better.

Designed to look as though this it could have rolled off the factory line along side the originals, this kit comes with everything needed to make your Doepke D6 into a fully functioning sideboom pipe laying toy.

With a 14 inch long boom and fabricated steel assembly, features include dual hand crank winches with thumb brakes – just like the original Doepke UNIT crane – boom suspension with three-part line, a custom two-part line load block and brass sheaves. Completing the kit is a solid cast resin “stacked plate” counterweight, complete assembly hardware, rigging and detailed assembly instructions. We have taken care of all the details to make sure you can have all of the fun.” CCM

Great Custom Scraper

Custom Heiliner Scraper & Euclid Bottom Dump

Dr. John Thiel created this wonderful version. The front of a Heiliner Scraper, Engine from a Marx Toy, and the rear section from a Euclid Bottom Dump have joined together to create a really cool version of this nice toy. If anyone has a clearer picture please send!

Custom Doepke Euclid Hauler with Quad Wheel Setup

Interesting Quad Wheel Euclid Bottom Dump Setup.  This custom version of what looks like a Euclid Bottom Dump tractor with the addition of a 5 wheel and the trailer from a Woolbridge with the addition of an extra set of wheels.  Interesting restoration job and great quality with  the custom exhaust on the tractor.  I found this surfing the web in 2004 and thought I would share it with everyone.
